LFS is a wear-and-tear-like condition that is age-related, characterized by narrowing of the intervertebral space. As such, the joints become overloaded, causing nerve issues and pain.

A total of ten patients were evaluated in this study, with individuals experiencing LFS symptoms for an average of nine weeks. Six patients completed the full treatment regimen and follow-up, which consisted of a hyaluronic acid injection into the spine.

Findings indicated that while there were no significant improvements in some symptom scales, a statistically significant increase in reduced straight leg raise (SLR) test results was noted.
